What is it about? Can you really face the boogeyman and escape? Well, we made the boogeyman a hell lot of scarier, so it won??ft be that easy this time. -
This was a major edition. All the added scenes did not have a score, so we had to add this as well. What we wanted was to keep the scaryness that Tim experiences, who is followed and terrified by the boogeyman all his life. He feeds from his fear. Of course Tim is perfect, because he is so easily frightened. The original movie started as a horror movie, causing fear with shock moments. Later on the director/writer tried to include a ghost hunting story, a background and a teleport-whatever thingy. We wanted the boogeyman to be what a boogeyman really is, a demonlike unphysical creature that just exists for causing fear in people, who are made believers. The boogeyman is almost like Freddy Kruger in his last movie, when he can exist only, when he is believed in. Our boogeyman should be fearsome and ruthless and of course invinvible, at least for Tim, who cannot overcome his fears. He is doomed from the very beginning. We are well aware that boogeyman still is not a masterpiece, but we think our edition is a nice little horror movie to watch and the people we showed it to were not disappointed. The thing that made us proud is that they believed our ending, as this was the hardest work we ever had. Thank you, Stephen Kay, for placing the additional scene after the credits. Without it, our ending would have been unsatisfying. When Tim utters ??g6???? in the end, this is not the solution, but the beginning of his end, his trying to challenge a force far more powerful than he could ever become. You might wonder, who it was to ask: ??gwhat happens, when you count to six???.
