ive watched this movie 7 times already within 2 weeks. ALL of these people did an excellent job portraying their characters. the top ones are glen close and janet mcteer, and then the owner of the hotel. its a wonderful old time movie, sad in its right, and interesting enough as to keep you guessing what will happen next. its unpredictable. but only people who enjoy older time movies will apprectiate what this movie is about.
I loved this film, it is a bit slow, the story is good but very sad. Glen Close played this character very convincingly. The poor thing saved every penny her whole working life denying herself everything, then died before doing what she wanted. TOTALY UNFAIR. I dont condone blowing life savings but this film made me go and get a giant tub of Haagen Dasz and a bottle of Jim Beam to have while I watch another film. Could be dead tomorrow!!
this was definitely about the realities in life of the times. i was amazed. glenn close and janet mcteer did awesome jobs at portraying these characters. i feel that janet mcteer looks awesome as a man. lol sorry janet. but you made the character very handsome !!! i will be watching this movie over again later on.
I thought this was a very very interesting film. Kinda odd watching Glenn like that, but I think she played the yet strange role quite well. I felt it did lack some drama, however, I did think it made for a great watch. 4/5
