I just can't bear to even watch this movie. I tried once before a couple of years ago and just had to bail. I tried again just now and had to bail. Basically, its Chinese fantasy which I guess will really work for you if you're into fantasy movies; I don't watch that genre at all. Lots of cool stuff for Asian fantasy fans.
I had no expectation of this movie due to i'm an avid martial arts fan and love movies. This movie surpassed my thoughts including all kinds of different satires and stories in it. Andy Lau is quickly becoming a favorite of mines just like Donnie Yin. He can capture a film's essence with his timeless acting and knows how to get the most out of his characters. A great movie that can and will become a timeless classic!!!!
I have really become a fan of movies like this. The good the bad the weird, Ip man and Ip man 2, ect these movies are extremely well made, with excellent stories and cinematography. Watching them with the sub titles gives you a chance to experience what the actor was really doing via their voice inflections, and actual speaking. It's just not the same if you watch them dubbed.
