More of a film for fans of apocalyptic situations with not a lot of slam bam special effects or complicated science. I'm sure it'll be slow moving for some tastes but it's a thoughtfully crafted what-if tale. I'd have liked characters that most of us could identify with, but that's just me. I mean, I am somewhat less moved by a story depicting members of the 1% soiling themselves as doom approaches.
If someone has seen this movie truly i would appreciate it if you could write a little comment about it :) just to help me out a little i am writing a list of 5 movies to watch at the moment and am going back to the best ones, but there are no comments about this movie at all " i will help you-anyone out if i can"Thanks"

I stand corrected...just checked and Tree of Life appears to have broke even. It is due to foreign distribution where it grossed 40,000,000. That puts it at having grossed $50,000,000. However, production cost was more than $32,000,000 and distribution cost and marketing cost were and will be probably close to $20,000,000. At least it paid for itself. Let's see if Melancholia is as fortunate.
The creators of this film was going for a Terence Malick look like, " Tree of Life"... both movies boring as H..l to people who just want a good movie to watch...for those who are into visual art...they like this stuff...not me...When I pay or take the time to watch a movie, I want the definition of a movie to play out before me....I'll go to a gallery to view visual art. This movie, just like Tree of Life already did, will BOMB at the box office...They may make the cost of the film back over years of DVD rentals...don't even think they will do well there.
A different type of movie no doubt for me. I'm no critic but the photography was great. The acting was great. The story line was slower than I usually enjoy so I was anxious several times, just me as I usually watch action. Over all I thought this movie was beautiful, now for a good action yarn.
