A 14th century Crusader returns to a homeland devastated by the Black Plague. A beleaguered church, deeming sorcery the culprit of the plague, commands the two knights to transport an accused witch to a remote abbey, where monks will perform a ritual in hopes of ending the pestilence. A priest, a grieving knight, a disgraced itinerant and a headstrong youth who can only dream of becoming a knight join a mission troubled by mythically hostile wilderness and fierce contention over the fate of the girl. When the embattled party arrives at the abbey, a horrific discovery jeopardises the knight\'s pledge to ensure the girl fair treatment, and pits them against an inexplicably powerful and destructive force..
I liked it it was very good and a unique turn on the story of the black plague. Acting was very good and locations and atmosphere was enjoyable. Thank You for the movie.
yes some may call this movie " slow and alot of movies " slow " but these slow moments in movies add flavour and feeling to it... cant relly be all 90 minutes of just fight fight fight... then it wouldnt be a movie at all really... might as well wacth nuttin but 90 minutes of clips of fights from fight club if you want that... i really enjoyed this movie... the actors... and it kinda gets to you through out the movie... is the girl really innocent?... or is she playing with you... i do highly suggest viewing this movie... 10 / 10 from me
Great movie for the first half of it, then.. it goes down and down. Could have been better, but I have issues figuring Nicolas Cage in the medieval period and for a soldier who fought MOST of the major battles of the Crusades, he looks pretty "flawless" unlike is friend... good for a Sunday night entertainment.
According to me it was actually a pretty good movie in most aspects, until you get to the lame bullsht monster, that just screwed over the whole greatness of the film if you ask me. Still I would give it a 3.5/5 If it wasnt for the bullsht bad guy id give it a 4.5 or so. It is worth a watch tho
Wasn't bad but was expecting and it could BE a lot more. More background information would have been nice. I think the girl cast as the witch was good.
Good cinematography, good script, good directing and ... okay I’ll say it ... good acting gets this movie two thumbs up. Don’t take my word for it. Go see Season Of The Witch and tell me you won’t come out thinking, “Hmmm, not bad at all”.
for all Americans who don't know who Robert Sheehan (The young guy), he is probably the UK's most talented comedy actors. If you ever get a chance to watch the series 'Misfits' you wont regret it, in fact you cant help but become addiced to it!
Looking at the cast, its easy to get excited about Season of the Witch, but with a very weak story line and no sense of real reasoning behind each character actions, you come away almost shocked that the same director has films like 'swordfish' and 'gone in sixty seconds' in his back catalog. Certain revelations in the film where not well explained at all and it just felt at times, heaps of back story where dumped on you all at once and by the time you figured out what was relevant and what was not you'd lost interest in the last scene and now were being dragged through another.
Solid performances from Ron and Nick, but you can't help but be disappointed at the material they had to work with.
Okay so personally i think Cage is an awesome actor and the girl who was the witch or demon or what-ever was pretty good to but this movie was way to slow for my taste. Also the movie was really crappy because everybody is going loco when there is really no reason for it, just stay away from the girl and sh wont touch you, dont talk to her and she wont talk to you and if she does then ignore her. Also the prayers are all in Latin cause thats the only way they work so you dont understand a thing, and at the end i am literally shouting "Somebody get a grip, grab the the book and read the prayer, sutra, incantation or whatever properly and kill the thing already!!!!!!" personally i think that this movie is deserving of a great big giant F.

This was the worst movie that was made this season.,horrific acting,writers,just so over advertised for nothing.,i am shocked to read that this poor written story line actually written and liked by some.,.,., yuck yuck .,.,
I have just tried to put up a new Vidreel-link with great sound and a good quality of pictures. It's my first time, so bear with me if I did it wrong ;o)
Don't get me wrong I liked the movie, it has a good concept of a story but the whole purpose was a little off, sure it makes sense from past to present but was a little too center on one thing, the whole title is wrong or atleast off, NIcholas Cage actually was good don't like him much since he doesn't change he's character much, the girl did a great job she is a great actress, I liked also the kid the young knight, he proved himself in the end, I however didn't like the ending and most films it was not so great, though I liked how it was told but the concept overall was a bit weak, needed of the story, it was too much babbling and not enough facts to tell the story. Prayers in Latin is always the only thing that defeats evil but isn't enough to save them all. In conclusion it was a good film, the story was weak, the villain was good though a little fairy tale but grafics were ok, passive for a movie my final veredict to this movie is 6/10 for good.
NO they are not over, in a way people still are racists, homophobic and hatred still lives in many, were glad we live here but in many other places in the world is as bad or worst as it was in the witch trials, yet we only look the other way and keep living our lives, this country can only be called hero when it wants to be, i'm sorry but its the harsh truth
This was a good movie. I'll come back when there a better copy. It would have been better if it were clearer. I like Nick Cage. The match with Ron Pearlman would never have crossed my mind but it worked.
I thought they were really on to something in this movie but it simply lacked a defined subplot and didn't really tell the tale well. Good story idea with a so so ending and the movie was too short for my taste. They simply could have done way more with the story and characters. 2/5 for great effects but poor story telling.
OK I'm just going to wait for a better quality version to be uploaded here of this movie, cause i didn't even sit here for 2 minutes without having to click on the X to exit the video, cause to be honest the sound & picture quality was real bad, but i don't mind waiting until a better quality version gets uploaded, as i am a patient man :)

8/10, This Movie Was Preety good. The Acting was great. It wasnt a low Budget Film either. Perhaps ill even watch again Someday. I reccommend it for sure. What i also reccommend is you trust Im a Better Rapper then i am a Movie Critic. I am From St John's Newfoundland and i go by the name John E Memphis. Was actually a really good movie. I can't understand why it was given such a bad rating at the movies. Someone must have been paid a lot of money to rate it so bad. Hahahahah!
