Judging from all your comments I guess I don't need to see the movie. You've already descibed it for me. Spoilers are never welcome, I'm sure of that. And I don't need to be informed as to the behavior of other people, I have enough problems of my own. Just tell me if the film is good or bad or indifferent that's enough for me, leave the film itself to tell me what I need to know.

I do think this movie is receiving way more praise than deserved. Yes, it does send a message. The ending was bad, and left you wondering if the whole point of the movie was destroyed. Basically the movie shows us what people do when they are scared of commitment and believe sex cures everything. Overall I would rate this movie a 6/10
Good film. Didnt look at imdb reviews but the topic is different, got people yapping on here anyway. Not sure why it's called shame though, it's about an addiction that he cant do anything about unless he gets professional help.
This is one of the better movies I've seen this year. It serves to show that any behaviour done to excess can be detrimental to your emotional well being. Pretty much anything that activates the pleasure centers of the brain have the potential to be addictive: Drugs, Food, Sex, The internet, etc.
the movie lived up to its name.for drama it wasn't that bad.7/10 I truly beleive that it send its point across.I know people going through a similar life style.

It was aight, nothing amazing. I cant believe all the reviews it recived and praise. I found it boring. The best part when he gets called in to his boys office and gets told his computer if filth. He should be ashamed of going to that gay bar what a homo. Yea his relation ships with females is a lill bleeped up and he watched alot of porn the only weird thing is him hittin that gay bar. Give me Street Thief, Man Bites Dog, or some bbc doc any day!
I haven't seen this movie yet, but I totally understand what u mean by a movie getting so many praises and awards, esp. when its not a jump out of your seat type of film! For example, that movie "In the Bedroom" won a lot of Oscars/Golden globe's for best picture and it was totally boring,depressing, and drawn out! So anyways, I see what you're saying...;)
dont get it??? a single guy who lives well with a good job, gets lots of ass, THE only thing he should be ashamed of is going to a gay bar. that part threw me off, and why didnt he bang the black chick?
His addiction isolates himself from having any emotional love for anybody, including his sister. His body is a prison that he can't break free of even though he wants to because his condition has effect on the only person he's ever really cared about. He can't control his sexual compulsions, thats why he goes to the gay bar, because he doesn't have a real reason to go, he just has that uncontrollable need to get an orgasm. And the reason he doesn't bang the black girl is because she represented a stable relationship, something long term as they discussed on their date. Brandon knew if he fucked her things might get to that point and so he stopped before it was too late because he can't commit himself to one person. That's why in the next scene you see him having sex with a white prostitute, because he knows that it's just a sexual fix. Jim Morrison said it best, you don't pay a girl to have sex with you, you pay her to leave. You really should watch it again, i'm sure you'll appreciate after a second look. easily one of the best films of 2011.
Good Movie.. don't care for the ending too much! but worth the watch! It really makes you think how perverted some ppl really are. Even when you think you know someone you really dont. No one is perfect everyone has skeletons and or ashamed of something they've done in their life. Always strap up! & Bsafe.
