Dispointing, as usual from an Alien invasion film.
We can all agree that Alien genre movies have fell deep into a hole after the making of Independence Day (Which was the best Alien invasion flick of the 20th century). No Alien flick, I tell you, NO alien invasion flick can match Independence Day, the 1989 movie "The Thing" and Alien. With that said, "Skyline" is just another failed attempt to re-spark that kin-ship we once had with the Alien genre. For some reason, in the 21st century, we can't make Alien movies successful. There is a sort of...."mind block" that disables us from developing a new perspective, a new way of viewing what aliens may be like. To get a new perspective of Aliens, I advice you see the documentary "Alien Planet", which gives a realistic approach of aliens.
I loved Sci-Fi movies so 4 me this isn't so bad it's ok .... don't care of does who hate it... so plz go ahead and watch it's not to bad. Anyway 4 ur information the Best Alien Invasion movie still stands as the one and only >BATTLE LA
I suppose the hardest Sifi nut could pick holes in this movie but it`s worth a watch bit dramatic at times make`s u think though when they do come were f::ked special effects were realistic at times and not at others as for the ending I`d go out in a blaze of glory thats just me.
I loved the movie and UNDERSTOOD it very well.... They came because they needed human brains to survive and make more of there kind..... I love the part when the aliens ship got blown up and repaired itself just by useing human brains and the ending was AWESOME.. I give it a 5/5 I hope they make another part of this movie!
Worst ALIEN movie ever, bad actors & acting, the guy from scrubs was there hahaha so that means is bad. Bad special effects, story and everything! If you wanna c a good funny as hell alien flick catch Paul!.
It was better than I thought it would be. Worth a one time watch. The special effects were decent and better than your average Syfy channel movie. Really wouldn't mind watching a sequel if they decided to make one.
haha um wow this movie was the worst sci-fi movies I seen and I seen a lot of sci-fi movies good and bad but this is has it's own worst ever category, I mean seriously aliens came to take our brains? haha aren't they smart enough, I mean couldnt they just abduct people and take their dna or somethin creepier but um nope this movie didn't explain shyt and for that it derserves a 1 out of 10 and it only got a point cause of special effects but that's it, worst ever (comicboook fat guy from Simpsons)
This movie is a gold plated dog turd , if you took away the computer graphics nobody would watch this movie. Movies should have characters that the viewer can relate too and I had a very hard time relating to the snobby rich kids. It has some nice CGI fight scenes but otherwise I can't ever see myself watching this movie again.
I felt the movie was good over all but I felt that the movie was not fully finished I wanted to see what happend next aybe their will be a skyline 2 but i rate this movie 8/10

what piece of sht movie, i thought it would be really good, the plot was very lacking, and it is reflected in teh ending if you can even call it that. The special effects where cool, but the movie is total sht. Dont even bother wasting your time here. Sadly it really really sucks. 1.5/5 its actually one of the worst movies ive seen in years. Ill give it one point more so 2.5/5 only because of the special effects.
LIsten up if you havent seen this movie I will save u the time I wasted and let u know this movie was horrible. Let's talk about the movie, the storyline was dull and lacking since there was not much of story line to being with, the main actors are likeable but supporting actors seemed out of place. Special effects were okay but seriously it was more hype than action going on. It lacked so much content, first it didn't make sense how aliens would come to this Earth and without a warning strike us down, if they are so much advance than us then they should have used their strike more intelligently. Wars are not won by force but by tactics and this aliens didn't show any form of intelligence. I find this movie very childish and poorly made, but hey I have better taste in sci-fi movies. I mean out of the entire galaxy and they come to Earth? I'm sorry it just seems very excuse m language, stupid in many ways how badly the concept of this movie is, I'm a tough critic and if I don't like a movie I will rate it down and save many peoples time. 3 stars I change my previous vote since I watched it again just to make sure I missed somethin but no I didn't.
how are there soooo many unanswered questions? the aliens came because they need human brains to survive thats why they are harvesting the human race and came to attack in the first place, good movie in my opinion. Herb helps alot with the whole movie experience too :)

Well i liked it and obviously there's going to be a second one... i wonder how good that one will be... This one though was a pretty good movie i guess. I always love movies like this. About the ending well Hm... ah it was okay i guess... I also have to say the fact that it left me and anyone who watches it with so many unanswered questions (like why the hell they attacked the city in the first place) was the crappy part of the movie though so if you watch this movie be ready to be annoyed be that fact and this movies non-existent plot. I'd give This movie a 6/10 because first of all No plot, set up was lame, leaves people with so many damn questions its just crazy and the ending god i wont even start on that... but don't take it just from me you could watch it and see for you're self what you think of it...
this was a total popcorn film. won't waste time comparing this to others of the same genre since many people have already done it. will say it was entertaining just wished it was more global and seemed more like impending global doom. as the for ending well it felt too forced, but hey it is a popcorn flick, enjoy it for what it is!
thought the movie was cool cant wait to see part two definetely liked the ending.dont know why people was so dissapointed i got into the characters and liked that there will be another movie.well im a huge sifi fan so maybe thats why i liked it more than others 4 out of 5 stars for me

Why have I read in other peoples comments that the movie leaves with unanswered questions. Why do we need to know why the aliens are attacking?????Because they just are!!!!!!!! And people keep saying there is no plot???? Plot was simple . Aliens attack , man defends pregnant wife, Simple. its the timeless tale of protecting family and flee or fight!!!Anyway the movie was good, acting was fine and special effects good but not ground breaking. If you like the day the earth stood still/independence day/war of the worlds you will prb like this. Dont get too excited, its just makes decent viewing
The story doesn't make any sense at all and it just jumps from here to there without explaining things, there is no background story ether, the movie just start straight in the action then goes back a few hours before the invasion for no reason at all other than to learn a random girl is pregnant! and I was surprised to see the guy from scrubs in there but he can't act.
The movie ends on an awful cliff hanger which doesn't make any sense ether, it seems they have tried to make a mix of..Gears of War, War of the Worlds, Preditior and Independence day but it doesn't work at all.
There is one part where a nuclear bomb goes off, destroys the city then in the new shot its all new and sparkly again. One guy mentions the radiation only once but no one care like its no big deal. scew the monsters when your kids are gona look like the blob.
the trailer had more of a plot than story. the story gives no reason at all for there being an alien attack. but if you saw the trailer it says something like this "today nasa sent out a message farther than posible... etc" why does the trailer give a reason for the aliens comming but the movie doesnt? WTF

What can I say that hasn't already been said? You could see right from the opening no new barriers were going to be broken with this film. The acting was uninspired, the story weak and the actors poorly cast. The ending left me with a bad taste in my mouth...I almost felt dirty. I give this movie a 2.5/5. If you have nothing better to do give it a watch. I won't be seeing the sequel to this one.
wow you would think this was the absolute most useless movie ever made by reading some of the comments but the truth is is that its not that bad for a sci fy movie yes i have seen better and yes i have seen much worse get better reviews but the movie is alright just nothing special but still ok for a one time watch period ;o)

well over all movie had a few good bits graphics were ok am getting a bit upset by hollywood feel let down with there "they will watch anything attitude". but i've just watched it so maybe they have a point. there may be a second but whats that going to in tail the new alien killing all the rest MANKIND is gone there is no point , plow the money into the hobbit a second would be a waste of money.
The movie itself was pretty ok. Just for the f/x and action alone. It's definitely worth watching. It added a little bits n pieces from other sci-fi flicks but it came together nicely to give it originality. The acting could've been better and the storyline a little more detailed. The ending, well let's just say leaves more for the viewer. I say check it out!!! 4/5
First let me say this I was really excited to see this movie when it came out.The night it came out I read a lot of reviews ( not from this site).They said the movie was a waste of time and money.Bla...Blaaa...You all read or heard about this movie.So we didn't go see it at theater and I was very disappointed.Intel now I feel like and ass for not going to see it. "This movie was great !!!!!!!!!!!!"yeah I know it had a little bit of every Sci-fi movie in it but man it was cool... This movie kept me at the edge of my seat..I give this movie 9/10 and the only reason not 10/10 I wish it was longer.So watch the movie and you decide....
Why do all the comments remind me of a guys peeing contest? Or a contest of who has a bigger *****? It is annoying to read all the bad comments. Have any of you ever thought about the fact that we are not all a like and not everyone has the same taste in movies. To tell someone that they should not watch something is not right. Just because some one may not like the movie do not mean that the next person will feel the same way.
Well true to some extend but I don't agree fully either, since I would say only like 30% of people who watch this will like it, that's because they have lower expectations than your over the average person, I didnt like the movie one bit, I criticise by what I watch and trust me majority of evryone agress, not a great movie, below average for below average expectation kinds of people.
In that case telling somebody that a movie is great is also wrong as we have different opinions. The entire point of this section is for individuals to give their view on a movie. If you do not wish to see the good, the bad, and the ugly, do not read them. It is that simple.
Ok at the beginning it started like a normal movie, but then the whole hip-hop music really took it down, the main characters were acceptable but the supporting actors were very horrible. Ok we know they are aliens of some sort but they came here to Spoiler alert: take our brains? We have zombies for that and they aren't spcial techs for that, horrible storyline if only they mentioned why they really came here and who are they then maybe, I didn't like the ending nor the beginning, the only thing that kept me from clicking out was the special effects which I think were good though a little rip off from The War of Worlds which was a great sci-fi movie unlike this one, I mean is one questions after the other and they never answer them. I would give this movie a 6 but I think it deserves more of a 5 and I'm being generous.
its simple really....War of the Worlds Independence Day The Matrix and you get this....DVD be out next week and the sequel will go straight to dvd by Christmas.... Even my dog didn't like it.
Watched in theater the movie was ok in general , acting was poor and there is no plot at all , even special effect are not that good , if u like Sci-Fi then u can take a quick overview . 2/10 .
This was terrible! It had no plot, horrific acting and was a copy of War of the Worlds. So it sucked and was unoriginal! Not even a pair of great BOOBS could save this movie. It was retarded as the Palin Family and whoever the person above that gave this a 5 is a total F*** Tart and is probably a 7 year old with Down Syndrome. This movie is a 1/5...Tops!!! Word!!
Now don't get me wrong Peeps,I enjoy a good Sci-Fi as much as the next viewer But I found this one dissappointing on sooo mmmany mmmany levels!! The cam was good and the Audio was acceptable but the WHOLE movie left me thinking "Why Bother??" 2/10 for me... I was so rivetted that I ended up playing freecell and listening for a scream then rewinding to see what I missed SUX
Skyline is absolutely not worth anyone's time. I am not sure how some people find it interesting as the plot is non-existent and the acting is worse than an amateur school play from an elementary school. The only thing even remotely nice is the visual effects, which isn't surprising as the men who made it are visual effects experts, not directors. If there is ever another movie made by these men, it should instantly be found in the trash bin. 1/10
