Steel Magnolias is an American comedy-drama television film directed by Kenny Leon that premiered at Lifetime Network on October 7, 2012. It is a remake of 1989 film of the same name starring Sally Field, Shirley MacLaine, Olympia Dukakis, Dolly Parton, Daryl Hannah and Julia Roberts. The new film stars an all-African American cast, including Queen Latifah, Jill Scott, Condola Rashād, Adepero Oduye with Phylicia Rashād and Alfre Woodard as Ouiser.
I loved it. It was wonderfully refreshing to see an all black cast. I was moved to tears at the end, it was an over all good movie. i give it a 7.5 out of 10
OMG THE MALYNN STORY AT FUNERAL WAS CUT OUT . THE PICNIC WAS CUT OUT . AND THE MEAN RETCHIT WEISSER WAS NOT SLAPPED ..ANEELL GOING IN TO LABOR AND THE BUNNY RIDING OFF TO THE SUNSET ON THE MOTOR CYCLE. AND OH WHEN ANEELL ASK IF SHE COULD NAME HER BABY SHELBY ... SAD SAD REMAKE
i watched the original a long time ago...i dont remember everything about the movie, only the plot. anyway...as to my recollection, i believe this rendition was a bit different which was good. i feel that queen latifa didnt play her character as well as sally field. but the end still got me tearing up like the original :p
WHY in the World would they Remake this movie................I will sit on It and see what ple say.............Hopefully they didn't ruin a clasic..............
