As a stand alone story, this movie is definitely not better than the book but it compliments the novel well compared to other book adaptations I've seen. Although I understand certain aspects of the story *need* to be changed due to the availability of time, resources, etc. when making a movie, I thought some of the *small* changes were kind of silly. For example, this is the *Hunger* Games and food plays such a significant role in the book, I mean, Collins goes out of her way to explain how dishes look or taste explicitly for a reason but there was little emphasis on food in the movie. I thought that was kind of weird not to mention lazy (just my little opinion). I would've also liked to see some more screen time of District 12 (I swear I blinked and they were suddenly in The Capitol). I was disappointed about the way the mutated mutts looked (I expected something more, shall I say, *individualized* and less cookie cutter). I would've also liked to see an ending to the movie that felt less rushed. I know a lot of people complained about the camera view making them dizzy, but I thought it was a nice touch that reminded the audience that the story was being told from 1st person POV (Katniss). Overall I enjoyed this movie because I read the book and was anticipating its arrival. I can see, however, people who didn't read the book not enjoying this movie as much as someone who did. It can be slow in places if you don't understand why Katniss is doing the things that she does, the reasons (or excuses) for which are explained in the book. I give it an 8.5/10.
Never read the books (maybe I will start if I have time), but this movie was good. I feel like for movies that start off as books, I cannot give real critique for if I have not read them, but for the movie alone, I found it very intriguing. It's like stepping into another time, or world. I would watch this movie again. I think Liam Hemsworth got a little too much cred and exposure for only really being in this movie for what seems like 10 minutes max.. but then again I have not read any of the books, so obviously I don't know where his character is heading.
Overall, 4/5 I would watch again. And not only because it's popular expectant.
A lot of people said that the book was better...if they could add the rest of the story into the movie....the movie would be rad... I'm not complaining...the movie was really good...because it was something different.

NEED HELP!!! I cant get past the screen that says "video hosting is expensive" then when I hit the button for continue to video I end up on the same screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Great movie! Of course they couldn't put everything from the book into it, so obviously the book was better, so stop crying about that. The whole kids killing each other is sick yes, but its more significant than that, there is a bigger and more symbolic message behind it, watch it and love it and see if you can find out what it is :D
Really people? No movie has ever been better than the book...so shut it with the damn comparisons. For those whining about the movie not living up to the hype...get over it...everything ain't for everyone.
I really enjoyed this film. it was very interesting! a lot of people were raving on about how good this film is so I had to see for myself and I really enjoyed it. this film did not let me down :) it was a real action type movie! the actress did a great job!
Messed up the way they were playing with lives. How can you cheer and "happy go lucky" when kids are getting killed? That would be one sick reality of a world. I watched this movie for the main Actress. She's hot.
Well my neice "15" having read all the books Loved it, although she said "The violence was disappointing in comparison!." Of course i wanted to hate it :) but must say it grew on me as the story progressed. Alot i did'nt get for example being chosen so young? but all in all a good watch. Jennifer Lawrence was great. Im looking forward to parts two and three. M 8/10 V 7/10 A 6/10
No the movie is not that long, but it took forever because the damn sites kept messing up. :-| It was an okay movie, ended kind of dumb. Its not all its made to be, was it worth a watch? Maybe to others, but I could have saved my two hours watching something else, like sleep. I'd give it a 7 out of 10. It had a interesting plot, i think the actors were kind of beginners for a movie like this.
Awful and A Waste Of Time. I tried watching it 3 times and Slept like a baby through the movie. If your having trouble SLEEPING I recommend Hunger Games
Hi Madzie 17, Click on prove you are human which will take you to another window close out the pop ups, then in the upper right corner there will be a count down, when it says continue to either vidbox or vidreel click on that, it will take you to another place close out the bottom popups, then click on the screen to close the ad then click on screens sideways tryangle, the movie should start shortly after that. I havent had any problems with vidreel or vidbox. Have fun.

Oh my goodness this film was quite boring to me...but I suppose the teenagers will like it. I would imagine the book/storyline is more interesting; I'm going to buy the book! LOL I give it a 3/5 for the acting but a 4/5 for the delicious futurist storyline.
just about every link i go to now, vidreel, videoweed, xtshare etc.. when i go t play it says connection failed?? why? and it happens on multiple computers... everything is updated?
I expected more but I guess I have to read the book first to get more substance from it but it was still a good movie to watch. Especially for free. The cam wasn't to bad outside of the people walking back and forth, the clarity wasn't bad after I hooked it up to my LED TV.
This was an excellent movie, filled with romance, action and killing. It was a great clear copy as well I thrilled with everything Zmovie does it again. Great for the whole family, break out the popcorn and check it out. Dj Dominoe
