I didnt really rate Geoffrey Rush in Pirates but I feel he steppedup and well quite obviously he is suited to the role of a speech therapist than a pirate. Its a really good film in the period set before WWII, an intelligent, winning drama fit for a king -- and the rest of us.
Ba-Ba-Ba-Ba-Ba-Berdie.....LOL. This movie should be renamed, "A lucky Jack Ass Get's His Speech Problem Fixed." After all, Aren't Monarchy's one of the worst enemies of freedom? Still, It was a decent flick. 3 - 5 stars.
A classy drama with a top cast of Brits,(and Guy Pearce who is good as Edward). Interesting story though it's very difficult to drum up too much sympathy for these pampered,inbred oafs. Speech impediments ruined ordinary peoples lives,no speech therapy for those poor sods.3.5/5
IT WAS AN O.K. SCRIPT,.,.,BUT REALLY NOOOTTTT FOR THE OSCARS PLEASE,COLIN FERTH HAS PLAYED IN MUCH BETTER MOVIES THAT REALLY SHOULD HIS TALENT.BORING.....BORING....DRAGGING MOVIE IT TRYED BUT HAD NO SOUL AS IT SHOULD HAVE IT HAD NO DEPTH AS IT SHOULD HAVE,.,THUMBS DOWN
I loved it!..Oscar for Best Movie for sure..Over Black Swan. I mean, how many time does one want to hear about an anorexic psychotic ballerina, which is also a French remake.
A true story about King George the 6th and his speech therapist. This movie despite having a political back drop to it didn't really go into politics that much, It rather kept things simple and delivered a very sweet message of Friendship! I recommend this movie to everybody. This is a must watch for all the stammerers like me!!! I'll give it a 4/5 because I wanted to see more, the movie kinda leaves you unsatisfied.
This is one of those one-time movies which deserves all the Oscar nominations it can get, and the hopefully ultimate triumph. Colin Firth was beyond marvellous. His acting skills should make him famous for many centuries to come. All in all 5 Stars and thanks for sharing a movie which will definitely become a part of my own classic collection.
What an amazing movie !!! Geoffry Rush and Colin Firth had such a genuine chemistry that they played off each other superbly. I can't remember the last time that a costumer delivered so well...this is a must see for those who enjoy this genre. I would recommend you watch this one at least once, as it stands the test of time and is sure to become a classic for all ages. I offer up my rare FIVE STAR rating. 5/5 p.s the supporting actors: Helena Bonam Carter and Guy Pierce were well beyond noteworthy.
