Ancient southern . After battling the Ice Witch (Vivian Hsu), who has sworn eternal vengeance against all men for their unfaithfulness, Buddhist monk Fa Hai (Jet Li) imprisons her soul in Leifeng Pagoda, where his pupil Neng Ren (Wen Zhang) is also based. Meanwhile, two sisterly snake demons, the white Bai Suzhen (Eva Huang) and green Qing (Charlene Choi), are surveying the human world at their leisure when Bai rescues young herbalist Xu Xian (Raymond Lam) from drowning and both fall for each other. Qing is annoyed at Bai's love for a human, but agrees to tag along with her as they both change into female form to find Xu Xian again..

Love to watch Jet Li in any type of movie. I dont know what the issue is but I have tried to watch this movie on several different sites and it keeps cutting out after about 10 or 12 minutes. I guess I'll have to buy the DVD... oh well. Thanks for all the efforts that you guys put into this site. I enjoy it very much. Thanks again for an overall awesome job!!
the movie was awesome from start to finish..a love story yes but done in a way that you don't really notice that your a dude watching a love story....and i would have to say it is a great film to watch with a chic.
Has become one of my all time favorites based on Green Snake a true love story . Why do Chinese stories get such great reviews ? Love Romance Action Substance Heroism Depth etc I could go on and on - Wuxia FTW !
Sorry to knock Hollywood but this film did everything that Hollywood could not do. Here is real Fantasy in abundance. Wonderful special effects, a tragic love story, magic, transformations and beauuuutiful women (even if they appear strange at times). Recommended for its entertainment value. This film moves, never a dull moment. Thank you for reading me.
this movie has it all, it really is an excellent film, amazing special effects, and whoever wrote the story has a superb imagination, just as you read in the movie description above its Demons and monks in so many amazing out of this world situations. Loved it 10/10 (chinese but with English subtitles)

I could not stop crying at the end of this movie!! the last 8 minutes of this movie was so deep!!!! I absolutely love this movie and the special effects were AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! My heart went out to the demon monk Neng Ren!! i cant believe Qing left him alone on the rock with her last immortal words "I never want to love anyone as much as she loved him" And that beautiful song that played at the end had those precious last words "AND WE WILL MEET AGAIN IN OUR NEXT LIVES" beautiful movie!!!!!
