Enjoyed this movie as well as the charictars in plot, the young girl being as brave as she is leading the way of those who murderd her father and the old man in the movie is funny but dangerous 10/10
Don't know if anyone else noticed but in the 1969 True Grit, John Wayne's eye patch covers his left eye. I this 2010 remake, Jeff Bridges' eye patch covers his right eye. Also different is the outcome of the Matt Damon/ Glen Campbell character. Also, unlike the 1969 movie, in this remake we never get to see "Lawyer Daggett" (John Feidler). Details, details...
I for one have seen the original "True Grit".. in the movie theater when it first came out and several times since then on TV. I am not what you could call a rabid John Wayne fan but I have at least mildly enjoyed his movies. I think this remake of one of his best movies is worth a watch, whether you've seen the original or not. But it also proves that if you want to make a successful remake of a good movie, you would be well advised to not try it with a John Wayne movie. It just can't be done. He is too singular a character. 3/5

Film wasn't to bad but it was hard to get into the characters especially if you are a fan of John Wayne.If I hadn' t known it was Jeff Bridges I may have expected a chorus of Bobby McGhee. Movie stayed more with the "Book" storyline tho and I would give it 8/10. If you haven't seen the original probably best to watch this one first and then go and watch "The Dukes" Oscar winning performance of Rooster Cogburn
watched it again, and like it even less. the original is a better movie. the coen brothers pooped the bed with this one.....please joel and ethen no more remakes!!!

this is a right pile a sh1t. was like paint drying for 1st hour or so then i switched off after the snake bite with 15 mins to go. nearly turned off once jeff bridges turned up with that aweful accent....atleast u cud understand what the great john wayne said when he spoke. never liked jeff bridges, all his movies are sh1te including new tron...0/10 for this pile a sh1te.
Truly Amazing!! I have never seen the original of this movie but I will be looking for it now! Both Jeff Bridges and Hailee Steinfeld do magnificent jobs in this movie, holding your attention from beginning to end. I believe that Hailee is an amazing actress and I look forward to seeing more of her! 5/5
I do not know why the little girl role is considered as a supporting one ; she pretty much made the film with his awesome acting skill for someone that age! Hailee's dress reminds me the Wesnesday's robe that Christiana Ricci wore in Addams Family! Jeff Bridge probably won't win a second oscar for that role, but he will be, at least, nominated; he really did a great job! The others big names did a good job... but not great It made me think on how young 14 really was back in that time. Awesome remake! A must see!
I am a girl, not into westerns but I wanted to check it out. It was a pretty good movie. I am sure John Wayne rocked it better and they made Matt Damon's character out to be a wussie. But Jeff Bridges did really well in a role he is not normally set in. Not sure who the girl is but I will be watching for her in other movies. Good job overall.
I don't think that the fact that you are a girl means anything with the love of western movie. I myself, don't like western movies, but I really don't think you need to love werterns to love this one!

i love the coen brothers, and this film is worth a watch. im just not sure why they would remake this. the original is great, and other then a few minor details this is the same movie. nicely done, but i expect more from masters like joel and ethen.....cheers ya'll
